How we translated Badrutt’s Palace’s legacy into modern digital storytelling

Designing a cinematic content system that preserves heritage while strengthening relevance, desire, and confidence for today’s luxury traveller.

Badrutt’s Palace is not just a hotel.

With more than a century of history, the brand represents:

  • Timeless elegance

The challenge was not to modernise the brand, but to ensure its digital presence carried the same weight, confidence, and gravitas as the on-property experience.

Client Context

The Strategic Challenge

Heritage luxury brands face a specific tension.


1.Too much reverence risks stagnation
Lean too heavily on history, and the story feels distant to modern travellers.


2. Too much modernisation risks dilution
Trend-led content can erode credibility built over decades.


3. Digital channels compress experience
A hotel defined by atmosphere, pace, and ritual must now communicate through fast, fragmented platforms.


The real question was: How do you make a legacy hotel feel timeless online, not old and not trendy?

The Strategic approach

We approached Badrutt’s Palace as cultural capital, not a content brief.


1. Preserving authority through restraint


The storytelling avoided excess explanation or overt selling.

Instead, we focused on:

  • Rhythm

  • Silence

  • Gesture

  • Architectural presence

Luxury, at this level, is communicated through what is implied, not what is said.


2. Experience-led cinematic capture


Every scene was designed to mirror how guests experience the Palace:

  • Unhurried

  • Composed

  • Confident

The camera never chased attention. It held it.


3. A modular system for longevity


While the tone was timeless, the execution was practical:

  • Hero film for brand authority

  • Modular sequences for social, digital, and editorial use

  • Visual rules ensuring consistency across future deployments

Built for longevity, not seasonal relevance.
